Sausalito’s climate is classified as Mediterranean, but unlike warmer inland areas of California, the city is a little windier and chillier because of where it sits on the shore of San Francisco Bay. However, the offshore breezes and daily fog actually protect Sausalito from extremely cold temperatures that inland communities sometimes experience.
